John Freeman creates results-driven Public Relations/Media Outreach/Communications with top-tier messaging delivered with accuracy, style and distinction. His specialties with ICE Cybersecurity include finely-crafted brand messaging that’s not only technically sound but is also readily accessible, understandable and even inspiring to non-tech audiences.

His experience includes lead communications roles with CyberTECH Networks, LISC San Diego, UC San Diego Extension, Knight & Carver Maritime (luxury yachting), Knight & Carver Wind Group (wind energy), and New York-based editor roles with theNational Basketball Association, and the New York Yankees.

John’s background also includes 15 years as a nationally syndicated TV/media columnist, editor and sportswriter with the San Diego Union-Tribune. He has taught writing courses at San Diego State University’s College of Extended Studies, and co-authored They Called Me God: The Best Umpire Who Ever Lived (Simon & Schuster, 2014), the autobiography of Baseball Hall of Fame umpire Doug Harvey.

A native of San Diego, he earned a BA degree in political science from the University of Arizona, along with a Professional Marketing Certificate from UC San Diego.
